**Please be aware that we will check your membership status and that, in case you checked "Member" when you are not up-to-date with your membership, you will be asked to pay the difference at the desk upon registration

Registration cancellation policy:

• Cancellation before 28th February 2023, registration fee will be refunded with the exception of a handling fee of 50€ (VAT Incl).
• No refunds can be made for cancellations received after 1^st March 2023.

Cancellation requests must identify the participant’s name, e-mail address, and the amount paid.

SVEPM offers up to three bursary awards to eligible candidates. The bursary covers accommodation and the conference registration fee. In honour of the late Professor George Gettinby, a founding member of the society, SVEPM offers one extra conference bursary award which also covers up to £1,200 for travelling and accommodation costs to promote the participation of early-career researchers from Low and Middle Income Countries.
 
Should you wish to apply, you need to send the application form to the Honorary Secretary no later than 31 December. Your application will be evaluated by the SVEPM Committee and you will be notified of their decision by 22 January.

In a nutshell, ideal candidates will be:

• For the SVEPM bursary award - applicants based in European countries that are not usually well represented at the conference (namely Mediterranean and Eastern European countries), followed by those based in non-European countries where funding may be difficult to secure
• For the Prof. George Gettinby award – applicants based in Low and Middle Income Countries
• Applicants who are enrolled in a higher degree (e.g. Masters, Doctorate, Residency), followed by those newly employed in the veterinary epidemiology and public health fields;
• Applicants who are SVEPM members (though non-members can also apply!)
• Applicants who have not previously been awarded an SVEPM bursary
• Bursary recipients must register for the conference and provide proof of self-financed travel arrangements no later than February 15th.

Furthermore, they must present a poster (if they are not giving an oral presentation) at the SVEPM meeting and acknowledge SVEPM for the award on the poster/presentation. If they do not have a scientific study to present, they can create a poster describing a topic of interest in their home country, such as epidemiology training for veterinarians, a veterinary public health issue or likewise.

Call for posters

You can indicate your wish to submit a poster when you fill in the conference registration form. All posters will be accepted provided that they meet high standards of presentation and the submission instructions. You need to bring your A0 format poster at the conference.

Poster prize

The three best posters will be awarded a cash prize of 120 euros and a certificate at the annual conference. Four Committee members will judge the posters during the conference and the prizes will be presented by the President at the end of the conference.
